The Dairy Industry Planning Law, 2011 (hereinafter – the principal law) authorizes the Ministers of Finance and of Agriculture and Rural Development (hereinafter – the Ministers) to set, by supervision order under the Law on Supervision of Prices of Commodities and Services, minimum prices that a dairy must pay a producer for quota cow's milk (the target price). The principal law also includes a transitional provision, according to which, during the transition period, minimum prices will be set in accordance with a price-updating mechanism to be established by the Ministers in regulations with the approval of the Economic Affairs Committee. This law extends the transition period until 31 December 2025.
