It is established that a woman who was engaged to a soldier who died will be entitled to a monthly payment for a period of five years from the date of the deceased's death, and will also be entitled during that period to medical benefits and assistance in funding academic studies and funding psychological assistance for a period of 10 years from the date of the deceased's death. A fiancée is defined as someone who, on the day of the deceased's death, was intended to marry him and proved their intention to marry, even if they did not live together. Intention to marry can be proven if the deceased and the fiancée submitted an application to register for marriage with the Rabbinate or the registering authority, or if two of the following circumstances existed: (1) a marriage proposal was made or an engagement party was held and the intention to marry was publicized and known to the family members and relatives of the deceased and the fiancée; (2) a date and place were set for the wedding and there is an agreement for holding the wedding at a specific venue or an agreement for catering services for the wedding; (3) during the marriage proposal or the engagement period, one of the partners purchased or gave a ring; (4) the deceased and the fiancée entered into an agreement to purchase or rent a residential apartment.
