About the law and the debate

Official summary of the law (Knesset)

The Law establishes that, starting in 2024, parents of children aged 6-18 will be entitled to one additional credit point for each child in the said age range. In addition, the Law increases the amount of the work grant (negative income tax) given to a working father and a self-employed father, so that it will be equal to the amount of the grant given to a working mother and a self-employed mother (respectively), starting in 2024, and also lowers the eligibility age for the work grant to 21, starting in 2025.
