About the law and the debate

Official summary of the law (Knesset)

The definition of "qualified person," with regard to operating a machine or a moving transmission mechanism, in Section 38 of the Safety at Work Ordinance, referred to men only. The amendment to the Ordinance changed the definition of "qualified person" so that it applies to any person who has reached the age of 18 and who meets the conditions set out in that definition, regardless of their gender.
