Section 9(5)(b) of the Income Tax Ordinance provides that income from personal effort of a blind or disabled person from interest paid on funds deposited in a deposit, savings plan or provident fund, originating from compensation or insurance proceeds received by the individual due to bodily injury, shall be exempt from capital gains tax up to a total amount of 262,320 new shekels, as of 2015. It is proposed to raise the ceiling of said amount so that the tax exemption on such income will apply up to a total amount of 300,000. It is also proposed that this Law take effect on 1 January 2016.
