Section 28A of the Insurance Contract Law, 1981 establishes the court's authority to award special interest if the insurance company did not pay insurance benefits that were not disputed in good faith by the dates set in Section 27 of the Law. The section provides that for insurance of the type "personal insurance" as defined in the section, the court must award compensation, while for other types of insurance, the court may do so.
