Official summary of the law (Knesset)

A prohibition was established on publishing the name of a victim, as defined in the Law, as well as any other information that could lead to the victim's identification by the general public, including by those close to the victim, as long as an official body has not confirmed that notice has been given to the victim's family members regarding the injury. The publication prohibition will expire 24 hours after the time of the injury, and it will not apply to the victim, the victim's family members, or information they have permitted to be published. Exceptions to the publication prohibition were also established, and publication in violation of the Law's provisions constitutes a civil wrong, with the court authorized to award damages without proof of harm, in an amount not exceeding 10,000 new shekels.
