Official summary of the law (Knesset)
This Law postpones the determining date for approval of the Budget Law under Section 36A of Basic Law: The Knesset to 23 December 2020. The Law also establishes, as a temporary provision, an addition of 11 billion new shekels to the continuing budget. It is also established that the Minister of Finance shall bring for government approval a detailed action plan for the use of the government expenditure amount, which shall be brought for approval by the Knesset Finance Committee by 13 September 2020. The Government shall not be permitted to spend the said amount of 11 billion shekels without the Finance Committee's approval of the said plan. In addition, it is established that a change in the amounts of the plan's components exceeding 15% of one of the plan's components requires the approval of the Knesset Finance Committee.
