The Explosives Law (Amendment No. 4 – Temporary Provision) (Amendment), 2020 passed its second and third readings on 8 June 2020. The Law extended until 31 December 2020 the validity of a temporary provision providing that the provisions of the Explosives Law, 1954, regarding defense establishment enterprises shall also apply to privatized enterprises. This means that the privatized enterprises will be exempt from the provisions of the Explosives Law, but safety provisions established by the Minister of Defense will apply to them.
