Official summary of the law (Knesset)

The law establishes that an employer employing more than 518 employees, as well as an employer subject to a reporting obligation under Section 6A of the law, will be required to collect data and prepare an annual report on wage gaps in the workplace. The internal report prepared by the employer will include data on the average wages of employees employed by it, broken down by types of employees and positions, detailing the average wage gaps between men and women in each breakdown. The law requires the employer to provide, upon preparing the internal report and based on it, information to each employee regarding the breakdown group to which the employee belongs, the types of positions included in that breakdown, and the wage gaps within that breakdown in percentages. At the same time, the employer is required to publish a public report for the public that includes data on the wage gaps existing within it, in percentages, without publishing information that could enable identification of employees, sensitive information, or information revealing the designation of employee groups in the workplace. An employer may explain in the public report the wage gaps in each employee group. In addition, it is established that a report by a public body under Section 33A of the Basic Budget Law to the Wage Commissioner will be considered a public report for the purposes of this law. The Minister of Labor, Welfare and Social Services, with the agreement of the Minister of Finance and with the approval of the Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee, may determine in the future, by order, that the provisions of the law will also apply to an employer employing fewer than 518 employees.
