The Criminal Procedure Law (Amendment No. 62 - Temporary Provision) (Amendment No. 4), 2016 anchors the temporary provision regulating the division of handling of investigation material between the State Attorney's Office and the police prosecution as a permanent provision. According to the Law, as a rule, investigation material regarding felony offenses will be transferred to the State Attorney's Office, while investigation material regarding misdemeanor and petty offenses will be transferred to the police prosecution. Alongside this rule is a list of exceptions set out in the addendum. In addition, the Law includes several minor amendments: it was established to transfer the offense of indecent act in public to the handling of the State Attorney's Office, and conversely, various details were amended regarding drug offenses that will be handled by the police prosecution.
