Official summary of the law (Knesset)
The Food Donation Encouragement Law, 2018, establishes that a person who donates food to food distribution organizations, as well as food distribution organizations that transport, hold, or distribute food donations, shall not bear civil or criminal liability for damage caused as a result of the food donation, if they acted in accordance with the provisions of any law applicable to them and were not negligent. It further establishes that the Minister of Health shall grant, once a year, certificates of recognition to businesses that donate food to food distribution organizations, according to criteria that he shall determine.
